MaxxTraxx Backup Solutions

Workstations can be backup destinations.  Make sure you take advantage of our additional workstations-as-backup-locations option. All workstations including the server should be logged out of MaxxTraxx each night to enable MaxxTraxx message, backup warnings.
  1. Go to Setups, This Workstation, Printing and Miscellaneous Info. 
  2. Click on General on the left. 
  3. At the bottom of this screen check the box that says Make this workstation a backup destination.
  4. You have to exit Maxxtraxx each night, and when you log in the next day the workstation will grab a copy of the last night's backup and store on your local hard drive.
Critical: Single user systems should have some external method. Set up your Local Backups and make sure they're going to a separate drive!
  1. You can purchase 2 memory sticks of at least 2 Gigabytes each.
  2. Insert the memory stick into a UBS slot
  3. Right click on your Start button and choose File Explorer or Windows Explorer.
  4. On the left hand side, locate the name of your memory stick.  It will have a letter assigned to in such as "E" or "F"., Remember this letter.
  5. In Maxxtraxx, click on Setups,  Data Backup (from Server only).
  6. Set the time you wish to run your backup.  Note:  Computer must be on but Maxxtraxx does not need to be opened.
  7. Click on the "Select" button and then double click on the "E" or "F" drive on the left.  This will fill in the line in setups.
  8. Click on OK.  Then exit setups.
  9. You can test this at this point by clicking on the Backup Data icon in Maxxtraxx.
It's also an excellent idea to send those zipped up backups that MaxxTraxx did to any number of cloud services like DropBox, Google Drive, Microsoft One Drive, etc.
