Troubleshooting MaxxChat Connection Issues

If MaxxChat is not working properly, follow the steps below to verify the setup and troubleshoot the issue.


1. Verify MaxxChat Settings in MaxxTraxx

Confirm that MaxxChat is enabled correctly within MaxxTraxx:

  1. Go to Setups
  2. Select Company Information
  3. Click Security

Verify the following settings:

  • Turn Off System SecurityMust be unchecked
  • Use Maxx ChatMust be checked

Warning
Make sure that you have user names, passwords and security groups set up before unchecking "Turn Off System Security"

If these settings are incorrect, update them and test MaxxChat again.

2. Check Windows Firewall Settings

Windows Firewall settings may block MaxxChat communication.

To test:

  1. Open Windows Settings
  2. Go to Network & Internet
  3. Select Windows Firewall
  4. Locate Private Network Settings
  5. Temporarily switch it to Off

After disabling the private firewall setting, test MaxxChat functionality again.


Notes

Note: If this resolves the issue, you may need to create a firewall exception rather than leaving the firewall disabled permanently.



If the Issue Persists

If MaxxChat is still not working after completing these steps, gather any error messages and contact Customer Support 800-996-9777 opt 1 further troubleshooting.
