Parts Inventory Pricing Update

Parts Inventory Pricing Update

There will be times a shop needs to update parts pricing on multiple part numbers. MaxxTraxx has a tool to perform inventory pricing updates without going to each part and adjusting them manually.

You should always do a backup PRIOR to running the update.

From the  Service or Parts Counter screen, click on the "Parts" dropdown then "Inventory Pricing":

This will open a search window where you can choose to select certain parts to update, or a blanket update for your entire inventory.
To select certain parts, click on the "Select Parts" button. From there you can choose to filter your update by vendor, manufacturer, line, class, or size:

If you select "Update Checkmarks" this will indicate the method of price adjustment on the updated parts in the parts master record.

Once you have selected the filter, or if none of those options are pertinent to your needs, click "Next". This opens the Search Criteria window. From there you can select various options for the part or the price matrix:

Once you have selected the parts for updated pricing, click "Next".
This is the Pricing window where the updated information is entered. You may choose to update manually, use a profit margin, mark up or down of list price, or a cost multiplier. You may also apply a price matrix as well - just click the Price Matrix button instead of manual pricing, and select the matrix you want to use:

Please note that the "Manual" and "Mark Up / Dn" columns are based on list price, "Profit Margin" and "Cost Mult." are based on cost.

When you have completed the adjustment, click on the "Finish" box. You will get a warning that you are about to change the parts price record; click "Yes". A notice will appear and  display number of records updated. Click "OK" to close that window.

Always review your changes in the parts master record.

The blanket update on all parts is a quicker process. Simply select "All Parts" at the search window:

This will again take you to the pricing window where you make adjustments:

This is a time-saving tool that can make parts pricing much easier. It can adjust pricing on a large inventory of parts very quickly.
If you are unsure how  pricing will look after a change, try an update on a limited number of parts first.
