Error Trying to Delete An Employees

When trying to delete an employee, you may run into the following error:
“The employee you are trying to delete is currently clocked in. You will need to clock them out before they can be deleted.”

But the employee is not currently clocked in.

This message usually indicates there is a time clock entry that needs to be reviewed.

Check Time Clock Entries

  1. Go to Payroll > Edit Time Clock.
  2. Set the date range back several years (for example: 1/1/1999 – 12/31/2030).
  3. Select the radio button for For This Employee Only.
  4. Choose the employee you are trying to delete.
  5. Review all entries marked “Review” in red and correct them.

If You Receive an “Overlapping Clock Date/Time” Message

This means another time clock entry overlaps with the time you are attempting to use. Review the employee’s entries and correct any overlapping times.  You would need to view the clocked entries to view the clock in date vs clock out date, they should be the same.

Check Job Clock Entries

If the time clock entries appear correct and you still cannot delete the employee, the issue may be related to job clock entries.

  1. Go to Payroll > Edit Job Clock.
  2. Follow the same steps above to review and correct any entries marked for review.

Once all reviewed items have been corrected, you should be able to delete the employee.

If you’re still unable to delete the employee, or you cannot locate the overlapping time entry, please contact Tech Support at 800-996-9777  Opt 1 or log into Live Chat from the server for further assistance.
