PartsTech Update Requires Beta Version of MaxxTraxx - 07/08/2020

IMPORTANT UPDATE NOTICE for SHOPS USING PARTSTECH ONLINE ORDERING:

PartsTech has informed us that they are changing the security in PartsTech and that your MaxxTraxx integration will stop working after their update.

To alleviate this problem we have made the necessary changes in the next version of MaxxTraxx and have decided to release it to all PartsTech users so that you will be able to continue purchasing your parts through PartsTech. Please be aware that this is a partially finished BETA version of MaxxTraxx that has many changes in it that will be available in the next general release but that you will see beforehand. It has been well tested by our BETA users and is stable for this interim release to all of you at this time.

YOU WILL RECEIVE THIS UPDATE 7/8/2020. PLEASE INSTALL IT IF YOU USE PARTSTECH.

Below are some explanations and hints on what you may see in this release. Nothing has drastically changed; however, you will see that MaxxTraxx is going to a larger and more easily read Font and Style. Searching for parts, customers, vendors, etc. is changing to a Google style of search that will make it much easier for you to find what you are looking for. We have enhanced Signature Capture for all of our shops that use our Credit Card integration as well as numerous other new and enhanced features.

Vendor Search

MaxxTraxx now separates Vendor searches by what you want to search by.  You may choose "All Vendors" or "Parts Vendors".  Searching by "Parts Vendors"  when ordering parts, simplifies the Search Results list so that you don't have to pick through a large list of other types of vendors that would never sell parts.  In the beginning there may be no "Parts Vendors" in your list, however, they will be included in the "Parts Vendors" list once you have purchased parts from them one time.  So if you don't see them in the "Parts Vendors" list while searching, just click on the "All Vendors" radio button and choose the vendor you want to order parts from when ordering parts for the first time.  Remember, next time you search "Parts Vendors", they will be in the list.

Signature Capture Setups

  • We've increased the capabilities of our integrated credit card processing signature capture
  • Signature capture can now be turned on for every step of the process whether you're getting confirmation on an estimate or taking a payment
  • To turn this on first make sure that your credit card processing is turned on by following the below steps
  1. Navigate to Setups>Accounting & Payroll>Credit Card Setup
  2. Confirm that your terminal settings are correct and close this window
  3. Navigate to Setup>This Workstation>Printing and Miscellaneous Info>Credit Card Setup
  4. Confirm that your terminal is selected from the Terminal Dropdown and then check the box for "Signature Capture"
  5. You can decide at which points in the process you would like to collect signatures by choosing their respective checkboxes
  6. NOTE: Checking these boxes does not obligate you to collect a signature for every customer.  The feature can be turned on or off when you reach that step while saving the RO
  7. This feature is accessible anytime you choose one of the 'Print' variations while closing an RO.  Ex: "Pay & Print", "Save & Print"
  8. From the Print screen you can choose to email the invoice to the customer, save as a PDF, Print or choose 'Don't Print' to simply collect the signature.

Repair Order Snapshots

  • A new feature that goes hand in hand with the integrated credit card processing signature capture is the use of RO snapshot capture
  • Every signature that is collected for an RO will automatically be saved, timestamped and sent to the 'Documents' folder at the bottom left of the RO
  • As shown in the image above, the snapshots will be saved and named based on what the signature was being collected for.  Ex: Disclaimer, Revision, Invoice
  • These snapshots can also be taken manually if you plan to make changes to an RO and want to have a reference point for the original
  • This can be done at anytime through the following steps
  1. Open the RO and choose "Preview Repair Order" from the bottom left of the window
  2. From the preview choose the button from the top menu that says "Save Snapshot"
  3. The snapshot will be saved to the "Documents" folder at the bottom left of the window
  4. Any item in the documents folder can be renamed to fit your needs by clicking "Edit Description"
  5. Additional documents such as vehicle pictures, videos or inspections can all be added to the Documents folder directly by choosing "Attach New Document"

Digital Vehicle Inspections

Send Documents by Email

You can now email almost any documents that you save with the Repair Order or directly from the customer's record.  In addition, MaxxTraxx now has the ability to email any reports that you might need to send to your bookkeeper, accountant, customer or vendor.

New Search Style, Bigger Font Size and Simple Look

  • Searches have now gone to a new style that is based on the Search Tab that you are on.
  • In almost all cases you will have the ability to use a Wildcard (Google style) search by just clicking the "Wildcard" checkbox.
  • Once clicked it will stay clicked for that Search Tab.
  • Anything you type while the search tab is open will be used to find what you are looking for.  Even if it is in the middle of the Part Number, Description, Company Name, or whatever.
  • If you un-click the "Wildcard" checkbox, your search will be searching from the beginning only as it was before.  This feature will continue to be enhanced in the coming versions of MaxxTraxx.

Updated MaxxTraxx Security

MaxxTraxx has moved to TLS 1.2 Security.  PartsTech has moved to this as well.  Now all web communications by MaxxTraxx will be under this security level.  This affects your Multi-Store communications, Digital Inspection Communications, Email, MaxxTech Android Photo App, Registration, Online Ordering, CARFAX integration, Credit Card Authorization, and other types of secure communication by MaxxTraxx.
