Updating Sales Tax Rates in MaxxTraxx

Many municipalities will implement new tax rates beginning June 1st, 2025. To ensure accurate sales tax collection in MaxxTraxx, follow these two steps:

Step 1: Update Sales Tax Rates for Future Transactions

  1. Navigate to Setups > Accounting and Payroll > Sales Tax Rates

  2. Highlight the tax rate you need to change and click Edit

  3. Make the necessary changes to the rate

  4. Click OK to save

This will apply the new tax rate to all future Repair Orders (ROs) and Part Invoices

Step 2: Recalculate Sales Tax on Open/Unpaid ROs and Invoices

For open or unpaid Repair Orders and Part Invoices:

  1. Open each open or unpaid RO or Part Invoice

  2. Click the Miscellaneous blue link on the left

  3. Locate the Tax Code field (top left under “Service Writer” or “Part Counter”)

  4. Click Select, choose the updated tax code, and click OK

  5. The system will recalculate the sales tax for that specific document

  6. Repeat this process for each open RO and invoice to apply the updated tax rate

InfoTip: If you are affected, set yourself a reminder to perform these updates to ensure compliance and avoid billing issues.
