Once the new computer is connected to the local network, follow these steps to create a shortcut for MaxxTraxx:
Browse to the MaxxTraxx Server:
From the new computer, open File Explorer and browse the network to locate the “Scott Systems” folder on the MaxxTraxx server.
This folder is typically located on the server’s C:\ or D:\ drive.
Locate the MaxxTraxx Program:
Inside the Scott Systems folder, open the “MaxxTraxx Pro” folder.
Find the file named mxtrxpro.exe
— this is the MaxxTraxx executable.
Create a Desktop Shortcut:
Right-click on mxtrxpro.exe
, hover over “Send To”, then select “Desktop (create shortcut)”.
Minimize your windows, and you'll see the new shortcut on the desktop.
Rename the Shortcut:
Right-click on the new desktop icon.
Choose “Rename” and enter “MaxxTraxx” as the new name.
Contact Scott Systems (If Needed):
If you plan to use this new computer at the same time as your other workstations, you will need to fill out the subscription change form Subscription Change Form
If you’re simply switching between computers occasionally and not using them concurrently, no license update is needed.
