Attaching Pictures to a Repair Order and Printing with the Repair Order

Overview

MaxxTraxx allows you to attach pictures to a Repair Order and optionally print those pictures automatically whenever the Repair Order is printed.

Enable Automatic Printing of Pictures

To have attached pictures automatically print with every Repair Order:

  1. Click the Gear Icon to open Setups.
  2. Under General Column I – Document Setup, locate Default Print JPEG Pictures with the Repair Order.
  3. Check this box to enable automatic printing of attached pictures with Repair Orders.
  4. Save your changes.

Once enabled, any picture attached to a Repair Order and marked for printing will automatically be included when the Repair Order is printed.

Attaching a Picture to a Repair Order

  1. Open the desired Repair Order.
  2. Click the Documents button located in the lower-left corner of the Repair Order screen.
  3. Click Attach New Document.
  4. Browse to and select the picture you wish to attach.
  5. Save the attachment.

Important

Alert
The image file must be saved with a .jpg extension. Files saved as .jpeg or .jpe may not be recognized by MaxxTraxx.

Warning
When attaching a picture, if the Print with Repair Order checkbox does not appear (and the Default Print JPEG Pictures with the Repair Order option is enabled in Setup), the file is likely not a .jpg file. The image will need to be converted or renamed to a .jpg file before it can be marked to print with the Repair Order.

Controlling Whether a Picture Prints

When attaching a picture to a Repair Order, you can choose whether the picture will print with the Repair Order.

  • If Default Print JPEG Pictures with the Repair Order is enabled in Setup, the Print with Repair Order option will be checked automatically.
  • You may uncheck the box for any individual picture if you do not want it to print.
  • If the default setting is not enabled, you can manually check the Print with Repair Order box when attaching the picture.

This allows you to control printing on a document-by-document basis while still providing a default setting for your shop.
